Some of the letters relate to Waddington requesting permission from Clark University Press to reproduce the text of his book Biology, Purpose and Ethics in a forthcoming collection of essays (possibly one of the volumes of Towards a Theoretical Biology series which Waddington edited between 1968 and 1972). The text consisted of the Heinz Werner Lectures that Waddington had given at Clark University.
