On the obverse is an embossed ram's head surrounded by a border with the inscription 'The Worshipful Company of Woolmen' and on the reverse is the inscription 'Presented To / Professor James / Cossar Ewart. M.D. F.R.S. / For Research In / Connection With Wool / 1924.'
