Note possibly collected from Donald MacColl, foxhunter, Glencreran, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire, about St Cyril's graveyard [Cladh Churalain, Earra Ghàidheal/Argyllshire] and how the biers of the 'Eaglaish Shass[anach]' [English Church (Episcopal Church)] 'are smashed against an aged gnarled low cuilion holly tree after it carries up the dead' there, whereas presbyterian biers are covered with a cloth.

Story about Rev. John MacAulay, minister of South Uist and later Lismore [Uibhist a Deas and Lios Mòr]. The story tells of his appointment to the parish of South Uist over a candidate preferred by both the people and Clanranald and of how he was disliked by his parishoners. He left South Uist to be minister on Lismore but there he was equally disliked by parishioners and on his final Sunday there said that he would be prepared to stay on if any two parishioners stood up to show their...
