Story entitled 'Caisteal Bhuiri' [Caisteal Bhuirgh/Borve Castle, Beinn na Faoghla/Benbecula] collected from an unnamed informant telling how. Written transversely over the first few lines of this item also in pencil is 'Donl mac Iain Mhuid[eartach] who lived at Borve last was the last buried in the tunga at Howmore [Tobha Mòr, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist]. Raol Mor & Raol Og buried at Cladh Mhoire Nunton in the caibieal'.

The story tells how Niall Mòr acquired the right from Mac 'Ic Ailean [Clanranald] to Baile-bhaird at Staolaigearai [Baile a' Bhàird, Stadhlaigearraidh/Stilligarry, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist] and how his son Donald Gearr lost that right. The inside front cover is inscribed in ink with 'Bought at Wadebridge Cornwall Dec[ember] 1 1864 p 1/6 A A Carmichael' and the opposite page has 'A A Carmichael' written on it in pencil. The notebook contains Fenian songs or tales mainly collected in Uibhist a Deas/South Uist and Beinn na Faoghla/Benbecula, some of which are repeated in full or in part.
