A note states that it was composed by a woman in South Uist [Uibhist a Deas] to one of the Clanranalds. Text written transversely on folio 27v appears to be another verse for the song. Text has been scored out with a note which reads 'Trans[cribed] Thursday May 6 1869 A. A. C.'
