Biography

Victoria, eldest daughter of Charlotte Montagu Douglas Scott, Duchess of Buccleuch, was christened at Buckingham Palace in April 1845; Queen Victoria was her godmother. In 1863 she was one of eight bridesmaids at the wedding of Prince Albert Edward (later Edward VII) to Princess Alexandra of Denmark. She married Lord Schomberg Henry Kerr (later 9th marquess of Lothian) in March 1865.
