Scope and Contents

Handwritten certificate signed by George Joseph Bell, Professor of Scots Law at the University of Edinburgh, testifying that Scipio Alexander MacTaggart attended his lectures in the academic year 1834-35. Dated November 1834. The certificate also says that Mactaggart "very eminently distinguished himself in all the Examinations, particularly in the competition for the Prize given by me in the [Senior] Class which was awarded to him by the votes of his fellow students."

Scope and Contents Two sets (bound) of notes on lectures given by Prof. George Joseph Bell. The notes in the second volume were taken down by Thomas Sees.
