Biography

Dip. Social Study 1955. Helen Cameron was awarded the James Carruthes Memorial Prize for both theoretical and practical sides of the course and shared the John Craigie Cunningham prize for her dissertation "A Study of the Household Expenditure in a Post-war Housing Scheme". She was worked in personnel management at Harrods and Fenwicks in London. She returned to Edinburgh and worked as a family case worker with Edinburgh Council of Social Service. She spent a year in medical social work in Canada before returning to Edinburgh in 1963 and completing the Psychiatric Social Work course.
