Biography

Cert. Social Study 1956. From Matlock, Derbyshire. Joanna went on to complete training as an almoner, initially working at the Hammersmith Post Graduate Medical School and then the Princess Louise Children's Hospital, where she worked with Donald Winnicott, where she developed an interest in psychotherapy. She moved to Australia in 1965 and worked for the National Heart Foundation focusing on psycosocial aspects of patient rehabilitation. She was then appointed Senior Social Worker at Prince Henry's Hospital before moving to the Marriage Guidance Council, and eventually setting up a private psychotherapy practice. She died in 2014.
