Biography

Certificate of Social Study 1943. Born in Brussels, Belgium where her father was involved with the British Secret Service, her mother was Scottish and brought her back to Scotland after her father died when she was a child. She was educated at George Watson's Ladies College. She trained at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. In 1947 she married Alexander "Derry" Norman Jeffares, writer and academic in St Giles Cathedral.
