Biography
Cert. Social Study 1941. After graduating Norma completed training as an Almoner, she worked for a year in the maternity and child welfare department for Newcastle Upon Tyne. In the summer of 1943 Norma joined the WRNS and in 1944 went to Ceylon as an Administrative and Regulating Petty Officer, although not the welfare job she was expecting she "thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it...Ceylon is a truly beautiful island".
