Biography
Dip. Social Study 1953. Awarded the James Carruthers Memorial prize for best student in her year. Title of thesis: "A Comparison Between Statutory and Voluntary Homes for Deprived Children, with an Attempt to Show the Importance of Voluntary Action in this Field". Attended The Mary Erskine School, Edinburgh. Employed as Children's Officer with Northumberland and Midlothan Councils.
