Scope and Contents This notebook contains Charles Lyell's notes from his travels on the Mississippi River, through Louisiana and New Orleans over a period of 6 days in March 1846. This notebook covers geology and ecology along the Mississippi River, Balize swamp and Pontchartrain estuary around New Orleans, Louisianna.
