Biography

Non-graduating student of the Social Study department, Edinburgh University.

Enid was born in Stobo in 1919, the daughter of the Factor on the Stobo Castle estate in Scottish Borders. She attended Queen Margaret's school, York and later withdrew from the Social Studies course at Edinburgh University to do war work, first as a nurse, then in the Women's Auxiliary Air. Enid married Esmond Clive Arnold Bemrose in Edinburgh in 1946, who later became the High Sheriff of Derbyshire. Enid herself became a Magistrate in Wirksworth and Belper. Enid died in 2011 in Bradford-on-Avon.
