Cert. Social Study, 1942. Educated at Cheltenham Ladies College. Joined NAAFI as a Restaurant and Welfare Supervisor in 1943. Was posted to Southampton for four months over D day, then went to Italy where she was in charge of a depot for transit personnel, looking after 200 clerical staff and a driver attached to HQ.
