Biography

Born in Edinburgh in 1940, Philip de Grouchy was educated initially at George Watson's, 1947-49, but mainly in the Midlands, at Solihull School, 1949-1959, then back to the University in Edinburgh, 1959-63, where he graduated with a 2nd class honours degree in History. After a short period in professional 'repertory' theatre, 1964-1968, he had a 30-year teaching career at a sixth-form college in Southampton, 1970-2000. He is now retired.
