Biography
Kathleen or Catherine Hall (d. 1745) was the daughter of Sir James Hall of Dunglass, baronet. On 6 March 1743, she married the poet William Hamilton of Bangour. Their son James was born that year or in 1744, and their second child does not seem to have survived infancy.

This poem appears to be unpublished. It is presumably an epitaph to his wife Catherine (or Kathleen) Hall who died in 1745. It is written in a very neat cursive hand, somewhat neater than the other poems.
