Story entitled 'Ceudach Nan Collachain Oir' probably collected from John MacInnes, aged 70 years, Stadhlaigearraidh/Stilligarry, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist. The story begins with Fionn and his men out hunting. They have so much success that they decide to leave some of it for collection on the way home. Gille Glas appears and asks to be employed by Fionn so Fionn has him help take the kill home. Caoilte, the fastest Fenian, and the Gille Glas arrive at the feasting hall before anyone else and...

Story entitled 'Righ Eirinn' [Rìgh Èirinn or The King of Ireland] collected from Donull Mac O Phi [Donald MacPhee], Iocar, Uist a Deas [Ìochdar, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist]. The son of king is badly treated by his step-mother and nursemaid but a kindly old man takes pity on him. The old man gives him a feadan [chanter] which he uses to give his stepmother wind. The inside front cover is inscribed in ink with 'Bought at Wadebridge Cornwall Dec[ember] 1 1864 p 1/6 A A Carmichael' and the opposite page has 'A A Carmichael' written on it in pencil. The notebook contains Fenian songs or tales mainly collected in Uibhist a Deas/South Uist and Beinn na Faoghla/Benbecula, some of which are repeated in full or in part. These include 'Laoidh na Muileartaich', 'Duan an Deirg' and 'A' Bhraoin Chaorain'....
