Born in Vienna, Seidmann fled to England after the Anschluss in 1938. Taught German at Battersea County School, at the Institute of Educational Studies in Oxford, at the Language Centre at Southampton University and the Institute of Archaeology in Oxford. Became distinguished scholar of jewellery and engraved gems....'
