Scope and Contents Archaeological notes on Kildonan [Cill Donnain, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist]. The various sites relating to St Donain are described as Eilean Donain or Isle Donain, which is where the saint's house was, the house being '50 x 26 feet with several surrounding ruins' and the island itself being 70 yards long by 50 yards wide. Cladh Donain [Cille Dhonnain] is described as a peninsula separated from Eilean Donain by another island, the relative distances being noted, and containing a ruined chapel...

Custom relating to La Fheill Brìde [St Bride's Day] describing how Mrs Major MacLeod also known as 'Major Ann', the daughter of Flora MacDonald, removed the stocking from her foot and pounded a piece of peat on the doorstep while reciting a verse beginning 'An diu[gh] la [Fhe]ill Bride, Thig nigh[ean] Imhair as an toll'. Text has been scored through in ink perhaps to indicate it has been transcribed elsewhere.

Note about Iseabeal ni Raoil [Isabel Ross née MacDonald], daughter of Ranald MacDonald who was reported to be well over one hundred years old with 'all her faculties' when she died in 1866. She died in Archibald Morrison's house at Snaoisval [Sniseabhal/Snishival, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist]. It also notes that she [worked with] Flora MacDonald when she returned from America. Scope and Contents Notes on a copper brooch given by Flora MacDonald to Isobel Macdonald who lived at Airi vulin [Airigh-mhuilinn/Milton, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist]. Isobel [Isobal nian Raoil] was one of three orphans taken in by Flora MacDonald, she married Eown Ross or Eoin mac Fhionnlai and had a son Donl mac Eown mac Fhionnlai [Donald Ross]. She died in 1863 or 1864 and her son died in 1866 aged 80 years. It is stated that Isobel used to tell of the many things she heard while she lived at Airigh-mhuilinn...

Aonghas Og [Angus MacDonald], the grandfather of Flora Macdonald is described as 'a celebrated soldier'.
