The various sites relating to St Donain are described as Eilean Donain or Isle Donain, which is where the saint's house was, the house being '50 x 26 feet with several surrounding ruins' and the island itself being 70 yards long by 50 yards wide. Note about Iseabeal ni Raoil [Isabel Ross née MacDonald], daughter of Ranald MacDonald who was reported to be well over one hundred years old with 'all her faculties' when she died in 1866. She died in Archibald Morrison's house at Snaoisval [Sniseabhal/Snishival, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist]. It also notes that she [worked with] Flora MacDonald when she returned from America. Notes on a copper brooch given by Flora MacDonald to Isobel Macdonald who lived at Airi vulin [Airigh-mhuilinn/Milton, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist]. Isobel [Isobal nian Raoil] was one of three orphans taken in by Flora MacDonald, she married Eown Ross or Eoin mac Fhionnlai and had a son Donl mac Eown mac Fhionnlai [Donald Ross].
