Scope and Contents Notes probably collected from Alexander MacKenzie, Uisgebhagh/Uiskevagh, Beinn na Faoghla/Benbecula, on Fenian placenames and associated poems including a verse each from Laoidh Dhiarmaid and Laoidh Mhanuis. MacKenzie describes Gleann-na- tullach and Gleann-na-muice [Gleann Tùlacha, possibly Pollan na muice and Poll-iù/Poolewe, Ros is Cromba/Ross and Cromarty] as being to the south and to the north of Suidheachan Fhinn, where Fenians used to hunt and where Fionn sat 'dar bha Diarmad a ruith...

Story collected from Iain MacCoinnich [John MacKenzie], Uisgeabhagh/Uiskevagh, Beinn na Faoghla/Benbecula relating to Oscar and how he got his name, noting that at first he was called 'Cuime-nan-Cnamh' at first but after bravely slaying a beast his grandfather, Fionn, called him Oscar.

Scope and Contents Transciption notebook belonging to Alexander Carmichael. The inside front cover is inscribed in ink with 'Bought at Wadebridge Cornwall Dec[ember] 1 1864 p 1/6 A A Carmichael' and the opposite page has 'A A Carmichael' written on it in pencil. The notebook contains Fenian songs or tales mainly collected in Uibhist a Deas/South Uist and Beinn na Faoghla/Benbecula, some of which are repeated in full or in part. These include 'Laoidh na Muileartaich', 'Duan an Deirg' and 'A' Bhraoin Chaorain'....
