Scope and Contents Song [Òran a Chlèirich] collected from Coinneach Moireastan [Kenneth Morrison], Trithean, Carbost, Eilean Sgiathnach [Trien, An t-Eilean Sgitheanach/Isle of Skye] on 30 June 1861 beginning 'A chleirich a leughas na Sailm, 'S barrail leam nach paile do chiall'. The song describes a battle between the Fenians and the Lochlannaich [Vikings] and is composed of ninety lines and contains annotations and deletions.

Carmichael appears to have written in the book in the 1860s creating sections of different genres at different stages in the volume, with pages left blank in between to fill up appropriately.
