Letter to James Cossar Ewart from G.P. Lort, 20 October 1910
Lort writes that he will send Mr Pocock one St Kilda ewe and a Welsh ewe. He offers to send Ewart a ewe out of a St Kilda by a Shropshire ram and a lamb by a Red Manx as well as the Welsh ewe lambs and St Kilda ewes.

Lort writes that the sheep he was going to send Ewart were found not to be pure-bred, and that he will send him a Welsh ewe and a St Kilda ewe when his crates are returned.

Lort writes that he has not yet been able to buy any Welsh ewes that have not been with a ram, but when he does he will send one with a 'Soa' ewe to Pocock and four to Ewart along with a Shropshire and St Kilda cross and Manx and St Kilda cross. He provides some information about the tails of various sheep breeds.

Lort writes that the largest of the ewes is a Shropshire cross, the smaller ewe with close short wool was running with a pure Southdown, and the St Kilda ewe was put to a pedigree Welsh ram of Professor Winter's.
