Instrument of Sasine in favour of James Conynghame of Tourelandis, son (he is designed 'filius liberalis') of William Conyghame of Conyghameheid, proceeding on a precept of sasine dated 7th June 156- [the document is mutilated], by Alexander, Earl of Glencairn, for infefting the said James Conyghame in Carmell wode, Schaw, and other lands in the barony of Kilmaurs. Sasine given, 10th June 156-, Gavin Nasmyth, notary. William, master of Glencairn, and Andrew, his brother, the earl's sons, are witnesses to the precept.
