Instrument of Sasine following on a precept under the quarter seal, dated at Linlithgow, 14th January 1540, in terms of a charter of same date, to Alexander Schaw and his spouse, of the lands of Wester Grenokschaw and others. Sasine of the annualrent therein described given, 23rd February 1539-40, on the ground of the lands of Over Johnstoun, by Patrick Walles, sheriff in that part, to Walter Cauldwell and John Cochrane, on behalf of the grantees.
