Letter under the Privy Seal of King James VI, with consent of the Earl of Morton, Regent, addressed to Sir John Bellenden of Auchnoul, knight, justice-clerk, the Abbey of Kelso and others, narrating that through the decease of the late William [? Ker], commendator of Kelso, the abbacy, being vacant, had been granted by Queen Mary 'in commend' to Francis Stewart, but he being a minor, the king appoints Sir John Bellenden as coadjutor and administrator to the said Francis and abbey, until Francis attain the age of fourteen. With, full powers. Edinburgh, 28th October 1573.
