Scope and Contents
Charter by Queen Mary confirming a charter (dated at Finlaystoun, 14th September 1545) by James Lile, lord of the fee of the lands, granting and alienating to William, Earl of Glencairn, the lands of Over Mains of Duchell, with tower, etc., Nether Mains of Duchell, Myltoun and mill, Hawtanrig and Corrucht, extending to a £10 land, lying in the barony of Duchal and shire of Renfrew: To be held blench of the queen for one pound of pepper and one pound of cucumber yearly at Whitsunday, if asked. Witnesses, Mr. Adam Wallace, Mr. John Porterfield, Archibald Maklauchlane of Eskok, and Sir Robert Maxwell. Charter of confirmation dated at Stirling, 11th June 1546.
