Scope and Contents
Notebook and inserts containing topographical notes by W.J. Watson. Contains place-names and topographical notes from a number of publications including The Book of Clanranald edited by Alexander MacBain (Inverness, 1893) and The Book of Deer Alexander MacBain (Inverness, c. 1890). Also numerous lists of place names supplied by various informants, transcriptions of 4 charms and a copy of Rental of Forfeited Estate of the Late Earl of Seaforth (1718).
Inserts within the notebook include three folios of place-name information in the hand of Alexander Carmichael.
