Story entitled 'Caisteal Bheagram', 1871
Scope and Contents
Field notebook belonging to Alexander Carmichael, inscribed on the front inside cover with 'Alexander A. Carmichael (of Lismore) Inland Revenue Lochmaddy N Uist 20th March 1871' [Lios Mòr, Earra Ghàidheal and Loch nam Madadh, Uibhist a Tuath/North Uist]. On the first folio he titles the notebook 'Scrap Book No 13, Antiquities &c'. The thirteen and et cetera symbol have been written in pencil, while the rest of the text is in ink. Two ticks are marked at the top of the page in pencil and a note in pencil reads 'Muileartach p 113', indicating the transcription of the Fenian ballad 'A Mhuillearstach' within the notebook. The pages of the notebook were stamped in ink but were subsequently scored out and foliated.
