Journal note about hens which reads 'Crossing from hill to sea. Brood in 6 Sep[tember] 1890 newly hatched 7 chicks at Milton Nest 12 eggs on 15 April Benbecula.' [Àirigh Mhuilinn, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist and Beinn na Faoghla] The text has been written in red ink.
