Biographical / Historical
During almost 50 years of writing, Waddington authored and edited 27 books and more than 200 articles on a wide range of subjects, spanning biology, genetics, epigenetics, philosophy and art.

Arrangement
The handlist (H41) did not make an explicit distinction between actual typescripts of publications and correspondence about/reviews of publications, nor did it follow a strict chronological arrangement. In the interests of researchers, it was decided to separate out the typescripts from the individual correspondence files, but to still keep these files as part of this series rather than incorporating it into the Correspondence series at Coll-41/5.
The material is arranged chronologically, with undated material placed at the end of the sequence. Correspondence files are in reverse chronological order.
