Scope and Contents
This file contains documents from the close friendship of Marjorie Rackstraw and Rose Sidgwick.
(1) 6 letters written by SR to MR, dated 10 December 1912, 11 August 1912, 21 July 1912, 2 March 1913, 13 April 1913, and 10 May 1913. In these letters, Rose mentions titles of history books that Marjorie has asked about, discusses the misconceptions of socialism, and news from the Suffragist movement. Letters were sent from University House, Edgbaston-Park Rd. Birmingham UK.
(2) Three copies of a booklet of poetry titled Writings by RS, published 1920. The inside cover bears an image of Rose Sidgwick and poem titles include: "The New Decalogue", "Tongues in a Tree" "A Chaucerian Ballade", "The Pantheist's Prayer", "The Great Tidings", "Christmas Tidings", "War Spring", "War: A Diagnosis & Prescription", "A Ballade of Myself", "Rough Notes for a Speech given at Women's University Club, New York, December 9th, 1918".
