Records relating to research into the experience of firms which joined the Scottish Council for Development and Industry's electronics scheme. The study of these firms was later supplemented by ancillary studies of the experience of manufacturing firms in other fields. The analysis of this research was the basis for Tom Burns' and G M Stalker's critical study "The Management of Innovation" first published in 1961 by Tavistock Publications and also several other papers and journal articles.
