Biographical / Historical
The Edinburgh School of Social Study and Training was established in 1918. Based in university buildings at 16 Chamber Street, the school delivered three courses: Social Ethics; Social Economics; Personal and Public Hygiene. In 1922 a University Diploma replaced the School Diploma and in 1928 the School was fully transferred to the University becoming the Department of Social Study and Training.
