Vienna: Ringstrasse and environs, 1910
Scope and Contents
Schematic Diagram of Vienna in 1910 possibly by Camillo Sitte (1843-1903). This shows 1. the inner Ringstrasse as described in Coll-1167/A/6/11; 2. the middle ring street further out, marked "Girdle line" on the plan, which follows the line of more recent fortifications (presumably the outer ones on Coll-1167/A/6/11) and 3. "The recently acquired Wood and Meadow girdle. This new area includes the beautiful hills of the west of the city and affords endless opportunities for the development of the building area, parks, roads etc. It is proposed to form a highway along the whole girdle." Additional text "This too follows the example of Haussmann and Napoleon III in Paris". See also Coll-1167/A/7/35 which may refer to the same.
