Scope and Contents
A series 7 items containing the text and illustrative plates reproduced from an article "The Passing of Cloth Fair" by Percy Lovell, published in the Architectural Review Vol 36. December 1914. Includes pp. 99, 100, 101 and 102. Lovell describes the area known as Cloth Fair in London, which incorporates an area of housing to the north of the Church of St. Bartholomew the Great, Smithfield. Cloth Fair was demolished by order of London City Corporation to make way for a street improvement scheme. Appears in Geddes' (replacement) Cities and Town Planning Exhibition, exhibit number 949. Coll-1167/A/29/1-7 form a series of items that were originally displayed on one composite sheet on grey sugar paper.
