Scope and Contents
Papers from a file entitled "Mixed Clubs" and dating from Spencer's time at the London School of Economics. Consists of: Handwritten lecture notes on group work, leisure and community centres, youth services, mixed clubs, social disorganisation; typed notes on a visit to the Outward Bound Sea School and junk playgrounds; material relating to a Senior Boys course run by the London Federation of Boys Clubs on which Spencer was a tutor, including programme, play scripts and photograph of Woodrow High House. Printed material: Programme for a Week of Conferences on Junk Play-grounds held at Cambridge House University Settlement; "Community Integration and The Community Centres by Paul Halmos from The Sociological Review, 1948; newspaper cuttings relating to youth work.
