5.55 Female, Widowed, Over 65 yrs, Senile and arterio-sclerotic psychoses, March 1946
Scope and Contents
Admitted to C.R.I. Discharged. No P.A. This old lady's doctor telephoned yesterday to ask if she could be admitted as an emergency; he specially stipulates that she should have a single room. She apparently shows no definite mental symptoms but is "cranky" and difficult to get on with. She came from Edinburgh a few days ago to live with her daughter-in-law, her son being at present in the Forces. She has been very disagreeable, has refused to let her daughter-in-law make her bed, would not wash and was extremely quarrelsome. The doctor felt that unless the two were separated the daugher-in-law's nerves would suffer. No diagnosis given.
