"This man, a soldier discharged from the Pioneer Corps, is not a very bright specimen, not a worker, will be a bit of a liability. Goes about with his eyes half-closed as if he were dreaming. Will ask you the time after he has passed you. He has married a widow. House dirty or passable; 3 rooms for 3 plus lodger. At present working on a surveying job, very lazy workman. Dull and harmless. Married a woman who is immoral, disappeared on the morning of his wedding and was found hopelessly drunk. They have no children. Wife has improved since marriage. Nurse confirms - an awful man. Dr - " a little bit soft"."
