Scope and Contents
"This man, a labourer, lives alone in a single end, never very strong, not very bright mentally, you could not make much out of a conversation with him. Is getting worse. Home conditions passable. On PA. Recently given a job of firing a boiler but could not do it. [Male informant] says there is something physically wrong with him; a bit of a character. PAO confirms - he has been on PA for many years. He has had several operations for hernia and piles but does not take care of himself and gets ill again. Cantankerous. Dr - hysterical and hypochondrial, was obstreperous in hospital, should be in a home."
