Scope and Contents
"Occupation: Railway fireman. Diagnosis: Alcoholism. "A young man with a history of alcoholism of over five years. The social history indicates a strong hereditary factor, the father having been a chronic alcoholic. Patiend attributes his addiction to domestic disharmony and difficulty in procuring satisfactory digs. There does not however appear to be any strong environmental factor provoking the alcoholism and constitutional inadequacy seems to play a major part. All test indicate that patient is a border line defective intellectually. There is no evidence that this is due to alcoholism.""
