Scope and Contents

"This woman seesm to be a sort of saint; she is very religious, gives everything away, befriends stray animals, has about 20 cats. Very kind and saintly, never has any money as she gives it all away. She lives in a very delapidated cottage - half of the roof has fallen in; very dirty and untidy - she looks like a tramp but is personally clean. Well educated and well spoken. [Male informant] insisted on her having a telephone as her cottage is isolated. Does not mix with people. She used to live with an uncle who left her some money. [Female informant] this woman will come and sing hymns to you - full of religious ideas. She is a quaker. No PA. Lives on a pension or an annuity, house ought to be condemned. Dr confirms that she is a religious maniac."
