Scope and Contents

""She is a frail, under-developed girl, is excessively shy and obviously of a low degree of intelligence. I think she is definitely a case of epilepsy. From the description given by her grandmother she seems to have two kinds of attacks: a) genuine major epileptic fits in which she is incontinent of uring. b) "jumpy turns" or what her grandmother says are "jumpy turns". In these she throw her hands and body forward and immediately loses sonsciousness. They sometimes last for as long as two or three minutes and she sometimes bites her tongue. She gets four or five in a day. I think the latter are epileptic variants rather than true petit mal"."
