Letter from Antoine Laurent Lavoisier, Paris to Joseph Black, dated 24 July 1790. The letter is about phlogiston, Lavoisier introducing Monsieur Terray "intendant de Lyon", bearer of the letter, who has come to Edinburgh with a French student. Lavoisier states that he hopes to visit Edinburgh himself, sometime. The Lavoisier letters are printed in Report to the British Association, 1872 pp. 189-92.
