Files will be open 85 years after the latest date referenced in the file, on the next 1 January. If a file is restricted but the student concerned is known to be deceased, or to have been born more than 100 years ago, then access may be granted following a screening process to check for third party data relating to living individuals Researchers may be required to sign a data protection declaration.

Names of non-graduates, not proven to be deceased, are withheld until 100 years after their known or estimated date of birth.
