Scope and Contents
This sub-subseries consists of 9 files containing lectures and correspondence relating to material by Norman Dott on 'Facial Paralysis', dated 1936-1963. They especially relate to the paper by Dott, 'Facial nerve reconstruction by graft bypassing the petrous bone', given at the Second Workshop on Reconstructive Middle Ear Surgery, Chicago in February 1963, and published in Archives of Otolaryng (Chicago), 78, see reference Harris 74 in Coll-32/A.3. This paper given in 1963 was in part a historical review of Dott's treatment of cases of facial paralysis from 1936 onwards, and the folder includes the correspondence, drafts and notes for early papers detailing with the subject, and which Dott incorporated or referred to in 1963.
