Scope and Contents

This sub-series consists of 5 files containing material relating to Norman Dott's visit to South Africa. The tour lasted from 15 September 1957-13 October 1957. Dott attended the 41st South African Medical Congress in Durban 15 Septmber 1957-20 September 1957, at which he gave papers on 'The Surgery of facial paint· and received the Honorary Fellowship of the College of Surgeons of South Africa. He also visited Capetown, Pretoria and Johannesburg to give talks, visit hospitals, etc. In all these centres, he received many requests, both from the medical profession and from patients' families, to give consultations and advice, and he saw as many of these cases as possible.
