Scope and Contents
Material relating to the Public Relations Sub-Committee of the Edinburgh Committee for the Co-ordination of Services for the Disabled (ECCSD). Many of the papers relate to the organisation of the annual 'Disabled Week' sponsored by the ECCSD, and the follow-up surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of the publicity. The material consists of Committee papers, January 1967-June 1973, some annotated by Norman Dott; Professional Workers' Conference, 5 March 1970, debate 'Are the Voluntary Organisations playing an effective role in the Welfare State?' programme, 2 manuscript drafts of Dott's contribution (in favour of the subject), correspondence with the other speakers and with editor of The Scotsman regarding publication of Dott's paper, and other means of obtaining publicity for the 'Disabled Week'.
