Scope and Contents

'Spinal Paralysis Centres', 1970-1972. The material consists of correspondence with Norman Dott and papers regarding the establishment of spinal paralysis rehabilitation centres. It includes a copy of Dott's article 'Paraplegia and Spinal Paralysis in Scotland: Reflections and Suggestions', published in journal of Scottish Paraplegic Association, and read at the Edinburgh Meeting of The International Medical Society of Paraplegia, July 1970; correspondence related to the meeting, with a typescript of Dott's reply (Dott was unable to attend the July 1970 meeting, due to ill health); a copy of Dott's contribution to the conference on the Role, Design and Staffing of a Spinal Paralysis Service, January 1972 (with a programme, list of participants and correspondence); and presscuttings regarding the closing of ward in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh.
